General Dentistry

For most people, visiting the dentist every six months for a routine check-up and clean is the gold standard. Regular appointments allow your dentist to keep a close eye on your oral health, catch any issues early and give your teeth a professional clean that goes well beyond what a toothbrush and floss can achieve at home. At Jansz Dental, we believe that preventive care is always better than curative care, and a little investment in regular visits can save you a great deal of time, discomfort and expense down the track.

Personalised Dental Care in Sherwood

That said, every patient is different. Our dentists take a personalised approach to care, and they may recommend more frequent visits if you:

  • Have a history of gum disease or tooth decay
  • Are undergoing orthodontic treatment such as Invisalign® or braces
  • Have diabetes or another health condition that can affect your oral health
  • Are pregnant, as hormonal changes can increase the risk of gum problems
  • Tend to build up tartar quickly or have particularly sensitive teeth

For patients with excellent oral health and low-risk factors, an annual visit may be sufficient. Dr Jansz will advise you on the schedule that best suits your individual circumstances.
